1. Who we are
Cleaning Recruit Ltd (company number 15243109), trading as Cleaning Recruit, is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We provide domestic and commercial cleaning services, and supply vetted cleaning staff, across Yorkshire, Manchester, and London.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), reference ZB750913.

2. What we collect, and why
What we collect depends on how you interact with us. We only collect what we need for that specific purpose.
If you request a quote or make a booking

If you create a "My Account" customer login
We store your name, email, and phone number against your account so you can log in to view your past bookings and quotes. Your account password is handled securely by our authentication provider (Supabase) and is never visible to us in plain text.
If you apply to join our team as a cleaner
Our quick "Join our team" application form collects your name, email, phone number, preferred working area(s), your CV, and any note you choose to add.
If we invite you to the full application, we additionally collect: home address; right to work status and supporting documents (passport, photo ID, or immigration share code, as applicable); National Insurance details; whether you hold a DBS (background check) certificate, or your consent for us to obtain one; proof of address; and two references (name, relationship, and contact details of each referee).
If you become an approved cleaner
We create a login for you to access our cleaner portal, and record: the jobs you're offered and accept; hours you report working; checklist and photo submissions for completed jobs; and your working areas and skills.
Everyone browsing the site
We use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. This may set cookies and process technical data such as your IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited — but only once you've given consent via our cookie banner. 3. Our legal basis for processing
- Contract — processing needed to provide a quote, arrange a booking, or manage your account or employment/engagement with us.
- Legal obligation — right-to-work checks, DBS processing consent, and tax/accounting records.
- Legitimate interests — running our business efficiently, preventing fraud, and improving our services, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — non-essential cookies (Google Ads/Analytics), and marketing communications where you've opted in.
4. Who we share it with
We use the following third parties to run our business. Each only receives the data it needs to perform its function for us:

We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We only disclose it beyond the above where required by law, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our customers or staff.
5. How long we keep it
- Quote and booking records: up to 6 years, in line with our accounting and tax obligations.
- Unsuccessful or unapproved cleaner applications: deleted, typically within a few months of a decision, unless you ask us to keep your details on file for future opportunities.
- Approved cleaner compliance records (right to work, DBS): retained for the duration of engagement and for a period afterwards as required by law.
- Customer account data: retained while your account is active, and for a reasonable period after in case you return.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data, where applicable
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent

7. Children
Our services are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we'll remove it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures, including encrypted connections, access controls, and restricted staff permissions, to protect your data. No system is completely infallible, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the data involved.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised.
